I hate writing journal entries because I figure show don't tell. Looked at the date on the last journal entry and realized it was 3 years ago!! hahaha Spent alot of years perfecting my craft, trying on styles, chasing my dreams of artistic stardom only to realize I'd been doing art for the wrong reasons. I did it for attention. I did it for praise. I did it for love. I did it to matter in the world, to not be invisible. I created art thinking I'd rule the creative community with phenomenal, earth shattering illustrations. I thought if I could get just one shot, just one opportunity then the world would recognize how special I was. Everyon

Just came back from the CTNX in california a couple of days ago. Met some amazingly talented people, got to hear many of my heroes in the animation industry speak, and I had the pleasure of subjecting every pair of professional eyes to my portfolio for critique. I almost didn't go to the CTNX: Planned for six months preparing my portfolio, saving up for a hotel room and air fare, and taking off of work. Found out three days before I was about to leave that they cancelled my registration!!! Without the registration I couldn't enter any of the bigger portfolio reviews, any of the workshops, or meet with potential employers. I freaked out, cal
